The First Question: “I want to live in a world where…”

My Response: “I want to live in a world where Christ followers reflect God as He has revealed Himself in Christ – on the cross.”

Just added that last part as a result of something I just read… I think it makes a huge difference.

I think it’s appropriate that I post this on MLK’s birthday, because I believe that this very attitude – at least in part – is what allowed him to have the impact that he did – and does – to this day.

He called those who were near and those who were far off to live up to the beliefs they espoused.

He was a preacher after all. And the belief he called each to was one rooted in faith in one Jesus Christ.

With the apostle Paul he would say that “… Christ compels me!” – and dare I say it, compels us – to rise above our personal notions, objections, and preferences to live out the love of the Gospel.

The Second Question: “To create this world, I will…”

My Response: “To create this world, I will daily seek to listen for His voice, and respond in obedience to His will – in His way; and make every effort to teach others to do the same.”

Why this?

Because the only way to reflect He  “… who was, and is, and is to come”; is to reflect on Him!

It’s only in response to His “… still, small voice” that we can ever achieve anything of value.

Christ himself said, “Apart from me, you can do nothing.”

So, that’s my story and I’m stickin with it. :o)

Hey, it’s a new year – a new week – and a new day; why don’t we go out and change the world?

Maybe, with God’s help, even create the one we want to live in.
